About

Workshop-first
design thinking.

I am a Jewellery CAD Designer with over 6 years of experience translating hand-drawn sketches into production-ready 3D models. Trained in sculpture and seasoned at internationally recognised brands - including Azza Fahmy and L'AZURDE - I bring an eye for form and a deep understanding of how precious metals behave once they leave the screen.

Every file I deliver is engineered with the workshop in mind. I calculate wax-to-metal shrinkage, design multi-part assemblies for two-tone casting, and build precise cutters for stone setters - so the bench team can move from print to polish without guesswork.

End-to-End Process

  1. Step 01: Brief

Creative direction, stone specs, metal preferences, budget parameters

  2. Step 02: 2D Draft

Precise technical drawings in AutoCAD with dimensioned blueprints

  3. Step 03: 3D CAD Model

Production-ready geometry in Rhino 3D or Matrix with tolerances built in

  4. Step 04: Render

Photorealistic visualisation in KeyShot for client approval

  5. Step 05: Workshop File

Casting-ready STL with metal weights, schematics, and setting guides

AutoCADHand-ColouringHeritage Collection
View Azza Fahmy

Working within Azza Fahmy's Egyptian design heritage, I explored structural variations for these signature teardrop earrings - bridging the creative brief and the workshop floor, calculating metal thicknesses and setting details that preserved the brand's iconic monogram top.

Challenge
Translate heritage aesthetic into workshop-ready technical drawings
Approach
2D AutoCAD drafting with hand-coloured presentation blueprints
Result
Production-ready specs preserving the monogram balance
Modular Component Design - Asymmetric Cluster Ring: CAD to Reality - Scalability Strategy
CAD to Reality - Scalability Strategy

Modular Component Design

Asymmetric Cluster Ring
Rhino 3DModular EngineeringTwo-Tone

A modular 'master' shank where the collet separates from the band - one file accommodates multiple centre-stone shapes without redrawing. This scalability strategy reduces CAD turnaround and streamlines casting for high-volume production.

Challenge
Single shank redrawn per stone, slowing production
Approach
Modular master file with interchangeable collet
Result
Faster turnaround, lower cost per SKU

Two-Tone Bezel Solitaire

Bespoke Engagement Ring Remodel
Rhino 3D2-Part InterlockingBespoke

Engineered as two interlocking parts (bezel collet + shank) so the workshop can cast different alloys separately. The bench jeweller pre-polishes the setting interior before final assembly - eliminating the most common two-tone finishing defect.

Challenge
Client's dated ring needing modern two-tone redesign
Approach
2-part interlocking CAD for separate alloy casting
Result
Flawless two-tone finish with clean interior polish

Heirloom Remodel

Scattered-Dome Ring & Flush Setting Engineering
Rhino 3DFlush SettingHeirloom Stones

Transformed a client's vintage diamonds into a modern dome ring. Each stone varied in size and depth, requiring individual seat engineering and precise wall-thickness calculation.

Challenge
Varied vintage stones - different depths, unwearable
Approach
Individual custom seats, precise metal thickness per diamond
Result
Every stone flush-set securely - a wearable heirloom

AutoCADHand-PiercingTwo-Tone

Developed a Victorian floral motif within a fixed triangular footprint through multiple hand-drawn iterations. The 2D draft calculated metal thicknesses and negative space for hand-piercing - ensuring the delicate lace survives the jeweller's saw.

Challenge
Delicate openwork within rigid boundary for hand-fabrication
Approach
Hand-drawn iterations, AutoCAD blueprint with calculated negative space
Result
Lace pattern survived hand-piercing without defects
